WINDOWS SETUP - Manually Setup Up Your Connection (If needed)

How do I connect with Windows 95?

Click Start, Programs, Accessories, and then click on Dialup Networking
In there you will see an icon labeled "Make New Connection"
Double-click on that icon
Type in WylinxIsp, then click next
Type in your local access number (keeping in mind that the access number needs to be dialed the same way you would dial if you were calling a friend at that number)
Click next, and then click finish
Right-click on the new wylinx icon, and a small menu will appear
On that menu, left-click on "Create Shortcut"
A message will appear saying "Unable to create shortcut here, would you like to place a shortcut on your desktop instead?" Click "Yes"
Right-click on the new WylinxIsp icon again, and a small menu will appear
On that menu, left-click on "Properties"
Un-check the box that says "Dial using area code and country code" or something similar to that
Now left-click on the tab that says "Server Types" Un-check "Log On to Network", Un-Check "Netbeui", Un-Check "IPX/SPX" Left-click "OK" Now close the Dialup Networking window
You should now see "Shortcut to WylinxIsp" on your desktop
Double-click that icon, and a window will be displayed asking for username and password
Enter your username
It will end with @Wylinxisp.com Type in your password If the save password check box is available to you make sure you have it checked Then click on Connect
Your PC will dialup, and then once you're connected, you can open Internet Explorer or whichever browser you prefer to use, and you're up and running

How do I connect with Windows NT?

To Setup a connection to WylinxIsp in Windows NT 4.0:

Click Start, Programs, Accessories, then Dialup Networking

Click OK to create a phonebook entry

Enter the name WylinxIsp, then Next

Check the box "I am calling the Internet" then click Next

Enter the local access number here, then click Next

(to disable call waiting, enter *70, in front of the number) Click Finish to complete the entry

Verify the number, then click Dial

Enter your user name and password, then click OK

Now your PC will dial out to WylinxIsp and the Internet Once connected, you will need to open your web browser and/or email program to do anything on the Internet

Set Up a Dial-Up Connection in Windows 2000

1) Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel

2) In the Control Panel, double-click Network and Dial-up Connections

3) In the Network and Dial-up Connections window, double-click Make New Connection

4) The Network Connection Wizard will open. Click Next

5) Select Dial-up to the Internet. Click Next

6) Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN). Click Next

7) Select I connect through a phone line and a modem. Click Next

8) Enter the dial-up access number. Uncheck Use area code and dialing rules

9) Enter your username (full login info - xxxxx@wylinx.com) and password. Click Next

10) Enter Wylinx Isp in the Connection name field. Click Next

11) Select Yes if you want to set up your email account for Outlook or Outlook Express. Follow the procedures in the appropriate email setup section

12) If you would like to immediately connect, check To connect to the Internet immediately, select this box and then click Finish. Click Finish

1) Click on the Network Connection icon in the bottom-right hand corner of the start menu (next to the system clock). This will bring up the Network Connection window. Depending on how your computer is set up, it may look like either of the icons below:

2) Click Open Network and Sharing Center at the bottom of the Network Connection window.

3) Click Set up a new connection or network in the Network and Sharing Center.

4) Select Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next.

5) On the Type the information from your Internet service provider (ISP) screen, enter the details as follows:

a) Dial-up phone number: xxxxxxxxxx

b) User name: Your full Wylinx username. This will generally be in the format of yourusername@wylinx.com

c) Password: Enter your Wylinx password (you selected). This is case-sensitive, so ensure your caps lock key is switched off and you are entering your password in the correct case.

d) Connection name: It is recommended you change this to Wylinx Isp.

e) Allow other people to use this connection: If you have other Windows user accounts on this computer, and you intend for them to be able to use this dial up connection, check the box. Otherwise, leave it unchecked.

f) Ensure you have connected your modem to the phone socket, and click Connect. This will automatically attempt to test the new connection by dialing up to the internet.

6) To reconnect to this dial-up connection in the future, click the Network Connection icon in the bottom-right hand corner of the start menu, click Wylinx Isp, and then click the connection button.

How do I connect with Windows XP?

Click on Start, and then All Programs and then Accessories and then on Communications Click New Connection Wizard The New Connection Wizard will come up; Click Next
Choose Connect to Internet and Click Next
Choose Setup manually and click Next
Choose Dialup modem and click Next ISP Name, enter: WylinxIsp Enter your local access number, exactly as it needs to be dialed
Enter your Username
This is supplied by WylinxIsp Internet Enter your password
Enter your password a second time
Click Next and then Next again
Then click the checkbox on the middle of the page Would You Like To Create A Shortcut On Your Desktop Click Finish
A Shortcut to WylinxIsp will appear on your Desktop - main screen of your computer
Double-click on the shortcut, verify the information and connect
Once you're connected, you can just open Internet Explorer, or whichever browser you prefer to use

Dial-up Connection Instructions for Windows Vista

Follow these instructions to create a dial-up connection on your computer. Then you can get on the Internet to receive/send email and browse the web.

1) From the Start menu, click on Connect To.

2) Click on Set up a connection or network.

3) Click Set up a dial-up connection.

4) Click Next. Enter the required information for the connection:

Dial-up phone number: xxx-xxx-xxxx

User Name: (full username you selected - xxxx@wylinx.com)

Password: (the password chosen by you when you registered)

Remember this password(check this box)

Connection Name: Wylinx Isp

Allow other people to see this connection: Check this if you want this connection for all users on your computer (recommended)

5) Click Connect to create and save this connection.

You have successfully created a Dial-up Connection in Windows Vista.

To connect to the Wylinx Isp using the connection you have now created, follow these steps:

1) Click on Start, and then Connect To.

2) Left click on the Wylinx Isp dialup-up connection and select Connect at the bottom.

3) The Dial-up windows will come up. Simply click on Dial and your computer will connect to Wylinx Isp!
